G5 already has an e-shutter =). There are a couple limitations though such as iso1600 max and a 1/125s shutter scan time.

5N has a superior sensor for low light and a more compact size, thats about it

the G5 has better controls, built in EVF, better video performance, and a superior range of lenses.. put a fast prime on the G5 like the panny 20mm or the leica 25mm and it does pretty good in low light as well

Thanks for the reply. It's kind of frustrating how one camera has this and one camera has that... but what camera has the best mix of everything? Companies don't want to give you everything because then they won't be able to sell you the next upgrade. Also the lenses are confusing me... I guess panasonic and olympus lenses are interchangeable? Can any of these lenses be used on the Sony NEX line? (my guess is no and Sony went to a proprietary system)

for the mirrorless line my top 3 picks would be:
1. Olympus OMD e-m5
2. Nex 6
3. gh3

I would pick nex 6 but sony right now has a limited range of lenses, whereas panasonic and olympus share the m4/3 mount.

More features = higher price point.

those 3 are the higher end tier of m4/3's so be prepared to shell out more than 800 bucks for a kit.

I'm using a G5 right if anyone has specific questions about the camera.

So, I'm guessing for people that have used the Sony NEX line of cameras, this is not a good choice? For features, the G5 looks very nice, but how does it do on low light shooting with the kit lens?

About the same as any Nex5-N with the 16-50 or 18-55 kit zooms. You get about 2-3 stops of extra stabilization, but the 14-42 isn't the best in low light. It's a $100 lens for a reason. Get the Sigma fire sale primes to take advantage of the sensor.
