The vsx-51 is showing $199.xx online (store clearance) but looks like OOS since I can't add it to cart.

My local best buy showed one in stock, however when I called to make sure it was there, it wasn't. Be sure to call before heading out even if the website shows it in stock.

of course it's not going to be in stock when you called and brought the great price to employes attention. if still want one i'm sure he'll have it up on craigslist for 2x the price by tonight.

I just searched on ebay... some new receivers on sale for about 400 odd or so. i totally understand why some say don't call.

this is not always true...the online system is updated only once a week...whereas the local store's is updated atleast once a day and most times several times a day...i've tried to buy items like this three times now...went there without calling only to find out that it sold out...of crse they could lie to you..but i can confirm that they did not on atleast one of the occasions cos he actually showed it to me on his computer...plus the guys at my local store are usually very genuine...

Good find if you can find one. My recommendation is that if you can check out and receive an Ready to Pick up email, go ahead and go pick it up. I've had great success on my orders for clearance items so far. My best find was a Denon 3312CI for $399.99.

thats the way to do it...if you dont get a confirmation "Ready for Pick up" email then its not there

I ordered an in-store clearance Onkyo receiver NR609 @$200 last night around 11pm. The system accepted my order, they sent me an email saying Thank you my order. Status 'confirming stock inventory in the store'. But this morning, another email sent to me from BB saying my order has been cancelled because the item is no longer available.
I'm wondering, is it because the BB staff who worked on my order, and saw the cheap price of it, and keep it for himself, and saying it's not available??? I really hate BB! They should fold their business.

I could not add the item to my cart, but I thought that Pioneer Elite could not be sold online, so maybe that's the reason?

many times on these deals..if possible..I think it pays to go to the store with the information from the website...sku..availability etc..printed out and in hand
