Well you make 10 dollars an hour which means you make no money and you have bad credit so you cant buy things in bulk. You are going to take the risk of trying to sell something on craigslist that nobody has bought in two years. BTW last month these were 250 on clearance. I'm sure it happens, but it dont think it's a epidemic at Best Buy. I think people are paranoid sometimes. If you are going to drive 50 miles its best you call and take the chance. Most likely you will talk to a front desk girl who doesnt give a bleep.
Of course if you live 5 miles away the stealth mode and a surprise in store visit is probably they way to go.
Repped for common sense. I would give negative reps to every "Never call!" post if I could.
Few weeks ago I purchased a VSX-40 for $130 open box. Saw it on the Best Buy discount page, showed up in person (to avoid losing the deal,) and asked an employee. Employee couldn't find it anywhere. He asked another employee who remembered seeing it being used by Geek Squad to test out speakers and happily sold it to me.
I was unable to find one in any of the stores around Dallas. When I went to the closest one on lunch the representative showed me the stock at all other locations and all said 0. FYI in case anyone else around Dallas wanted to get in on the deal.
