Thread Details

Now that Callingmart no longer offers discounts for T-Mobile refill cards, I thought we'd start a discussion on some safe (low risk) alternatives. Options like buying from eBay or CrazyGameTime should be considered risky even though many have never had issues.

FYI - I bought a $45 Straight Talk plan for my wife from CGT for $39 and didn't have any problems.

Walmart : $50 card for $49.54. [walmart.com]
ShopDiscover offers 5% on Walmart but says "gift certificates" are not valid.

Target: Use RED card for 5% off.

For people that haven't been paying attention. T-mobile dropped discount to all resellers. So T-mobile prepaid resellers like Callingmart will not be offering discount anytime soon.

Dear Beloved Customers,

This is to inform you that T-Mobile dropped their discounts to all resellers nationwide as of February 1st, and unfortunately, it is down to a level that won't allow us to provide discounts on it anymore. (We have been losing on it for the past 5 days during the last promotion that ended yesterday, as we didn't want to fail our customers and cancel the promo before the announced end date).

We are actually trying our best to keep it at face value price and to not apply any extra surcharges (considering the payment processing charges and other fees we have, we might be losing on it, even when we sell it at retail value). For now you can still get callingmart points on every purchase, and it's still tax-free, of course!

We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you, but it's really out of our hands. We are currently providing it for our customers' convenience but not for profit anymore.

If you have a Meijer in your area, they offer stuff like Santa Bucks around Christmas time, and 1 or 2 other times throughout the year. They normally give something in the range of 10-20% off. Over Christmas it was 20% off, so I bought enough to last me through most of this year.

They have a 20% off general merchandise coupon on mPerks right now that should work. It only works once per person though.

Can this be done on-line through Meijer?

Is there some reason you think callingmart won't be offering more T-Mobile refill discounts?

Yes, unfortunately TMobile removed their discounts to re-sellers. From their facebook page:

I bought a $100 tmobile fill up for 87 bucks off ebay a month ago. Now it says ebay took it off and if I had any problems I could file a claim. It's working fine though

No, not that I know of. I'm pretty sure they don't sell prepaid cards on their site anyways.

no you cannot. You need to buy 5 x $10 cards for that to work.

It's a good thing I stocked up on T-mobile calling cards during the annual Target $10 freebie GC marathon!

Hopefully Target will do it again this year. This time I'll stock up enough prepaid cards for the whole year.

So sad, but I still get enough value from the T-Mobile $30/month plan.

callingmart gives you credits for every order so I think you can still do a little better than face value on the refills by shopping there.
