Thread Details

Now that Callingmart no longer offers discounts for T-Mobile refill cards, I thought we'd start a discussion on some safe (low risk) alternatives. Options like buying from eBay or CrazyGameTime should be considered risky even though many have never had issues.

FYI - I bought a $45 Straight Talk plan for my wife from CGT for $39 and didn't have any problems.

Not sure this refers to the same company. If it is, then at least the international prepaid card has some problem

Everyone is probably aware of this already, but since it was not mentioned yet, if you have a Target card you can get them there for 5% off, or Amex Blue Preferred will get you 6% off at a grocery store.

Do they charge you tax at the grocery store though?

Any updates? I used CallingMart a few weeks ago and was just beginning to love the discounts.

I don't wanna pay full retail plus tax to refill from tmobiles site...
callingmart is still tax free. they just aren't providing discounts because of a change in tmobiles policy.

If you have a Meijer in your area, they offer stuff like Santa Bucks around Christmas time, and 1 or 2 other times throughout the year. They normally give something in the range of 10-20% off. Over Christmas it was 20% off, so I bought enough to last me through most of this year.

They have a 20% off general merchandise coupon on mPerks right now that should work. It only works once per person though.
Great idea..ty
Know if tax is charged? Will rep for that when on PC. Mobile has issues with repping.

Not in my state. But maybe it varies. Do you get charged on gift card purchases where you are? It's my understanding that they are not taxable. I also get gas rewards on gift card purchases... sometimes at 2-5 times the normal rate.

I just got back from a Pathmark in Brooklyn, NY and was not charged tax. 6% off is what we were getting on callingmart so this isn't that bad. Just makes me walk to pathmark and back once and month on my lunch break since my normal grocery store (trader joe's) does not have gift cards.

Thanks!

Yes. Or you can just add $10 later for the next month.

Yes. I tried with T-mobile refill card and it takes off 5% when paid with your RED card.
