I think your best bet would be to give customer service a call. They might be willing to extend the expiration date for you. It depends on the airline and I'm not sure about United, but you might just need to book your flights then (and travel can be after that date). Not all airlines work this way though and of course you'd have to have plans to travel somewhere. It would be a bummer to lose the vouchers though, especially if you earned them because of flight problems (if so, I can definitely relate). Good luck!
