Last summer I had my wallet stolen. Cancelling credit cards and reapplying for an out-of-state driver's license were the least of my worries. I lost a couple of really personal mementos that I didn't realize their value until they were gone. Now I only carry an ID, one credit card (NOT a debit card) and any cash I may need.

I put these things in my front pocket, which is not only more secure, but end up taking up less space as well. It's a great situation, and I may never carry a wallet again.

I never carry anything invaluable around on me, but might you not as well carry all that in a wallet instead of a metal clip? something at least I would think is more easily stolen, reveals everything you have on you and does not securely store anything

You missed most of what I said. I carry the bare minimum. Now that I don't use a wallet, I don't keep anything that's unnecessary. A wallet is bulkier, and now that I'm keeping my things in my front pocket, everything is more secure, as well as taking up less space. Frankly, it's more convenient as well as liberating to use a clip. As a guy who used a wallet, I used to imagine how awful it was to be a lady that had a purse. Now that I don't use a wallet, I look at guys who do pretty much in the same manner.

In terms of keeping everything together, I don't really see a big difference between a clip and a wallet. Put it where you please, and it will hold the things you put in it in close proximity.

I go to school in a pretty bad part of North Philly. Discretion at all times is key, no matter how you choose to carry your important stuff. I see your point about people easily seeing how much you are carrying, but if you are smart about it, it's really a non-issue. Now I remove my card or a bill before I get into a cashier's line.
