Samsung UN55EH6000 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV $799.99 + F/S

This is definitely a slick deal.

I'm considering this. But read some reviews where there is an issue with 1080i on this model -- and that's what my cable sends me.

Def a nice tv, very clear picture. Only reason I decided against it was the thickness. I opted for the Panasonic tc-le55e50 for the same price. Very nice tv as well

The deal is off. The Samy is back at $897.99.

This must have been a mistake or them frontloading the 3/24 promotion or something. Map pricing is set at 899 until 3/3 when it goes to 999 + free UN26EH4000. 3/24 - 3/30 however the price on the UN55EH6000 will be $799.000.

Do you have any of the MAP pricing information about the UN50EH6000 TV? I'm on the fence about purchasing it.

You're probably better off going with the UN55EH6000 unless you can't fit it in your space, I think the 50" panel size hasn't reached critical mass for year round promotions. (50" was just introduced this year, but is a relatively poor selling size at least in my sandbox).

And then it jumps to $999 on 3/17 - 4/6 (that's as far as my roadmap goes).

ALTHOUGH MAP/UPP rules are being dropped in March so you might see some retailers dumping product around that time, but as of now they are prevented by Samsung policy from doing so in advertisements. (Paul's TV, Fry's, US Appliance would be good examples of retailers who are known to slash prices if they're overstocked).

If the EH thickness doesn't bother you, definitely pull the trigger on it sooner than later as the the UN55F6300 (releasing in early march) is going to be like the ES (thinner and more expensive ~$1499-1599) and the UN55EH6030 (doesn't come out until mid-may; no idea of the pricing but probably in line with the UN55FH6000 and possibly 3D).

I have the 46" and I have no qualms. It's not "bells and whistles" but it does what it's supposed to efficiently.

Deal is back on but not sure for how long. I'm in for one.

Isn't this the same deal as the one on Newegg? And Newegg doesn't charge tax? (at least in NY)

I would rather go with Amazon even though they charge tax here in TX, for white glove delivery and ease of return. Newegg will only deliver to your door and charges restocking fee (unless damage is reported within 48 hrs). In fact, if you report any damage after 48 hrs, they won't take it back; at least that's how I interpreted their policy.
