There's nothing to gain, besides maybe a discount on another video game or something like that. Once it's cancelled, there's really nothing the supervisor can do to "re-place" the order.

I mean, the only way I think he could do it would be if he adds this to the cart:

He would have to add that item (it's showing as order-able). Then manually remove the other 2 items (bundle SKUs add all 3 items to the cart as a set discounted price), and manually adjust the price to $29.99 on the Xbox 360 version.

There's no trick like that on the PS3 version because there aren't any bundle SKUs showing as In Stock/Available For Pre-Order.

Your game would again be placed on back-order and you would be at the very back of the fulfillment chain. Might want to cut your losses and stay off the radar until you really need something, but of course, that's up to you.

Well I rang up to see if I could get the name of the person who cancelled the order, but they said it was an automatic cancel. The strange thing is that this "automatic" cancel had no automatic email associated with it.

The CS bot put a supervisor on it seems. And he said he couldn't do anything. So I've done what I can, deal over! Have to say I'm not as fussed about this one since it was not something I needed and only a $10-$20 MM deal.

I have to fix the bloody CC thing though. I'm pretty sure the problem is with my addresses, but the system is so broken it won't let me fix them, I think because I merged orders from Circuit City.

Yeah, that's quite possible. Although sometimes my orders get put on "Pending Review" status and other times they go through fine so I think it's more system-related than anything on your end.

I don't believe there is such a thing as "automatic cancel." The only time that happens is after TigerDirect exhausts all possible efforts to obtain more quantities of a given item and whoever is in charge of purchasing tells them to cancel all outstanding back-orders. That most likely wouldn't happen on a Sunday, especially considering their distributors aren't even open to call.

I think the more likely scenario is that whomever looked at your order cancelled it... probably because they knew about the $5 Money Maker from their supervisors. But... like you said, not a big deal, there's plenty more deals to be had.

Tigerdirect is making the same mistake again and again. Why dont they take orders for items only in stock...All backordered

Great...but the deciding factor is luck..not who ordered early (as many did)....since many went into that "credit card verification" even on well-established accounts.
