Dang it! I just got the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G a short while ago (past the return policy)... Of course I should have waited
![]() I have the D5100 w/ the kit 18-55mm, the 35mm, and the 18-200mm. Is there another "must have" lens? I'm still a n00b. I probably wouldn't know how to take advantage of some of these lenses yet, but if these are prices we won't see again for a while I may want to take advantage. |

I started out with an 18-200 and a 50/1.8D (the 35 wasn't available back then, and the 50/1.8D was dirt cheap back then). Now many lenses later I've got quite a bit of gear, but it took several years to decide to go there and buy the stuff. |

Picked up an 18-300mm lens myself. Going to become my single take-along lens for my usual daytime outdoor needs. This lens is fairly new and is rarely discounted. Last edited by mattspalace; 02-17-2013 at 06:15 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Guys, is this really a good deal?
Nikon had the $200 off deal with purchase of DSLR camera and even with this deal the old 24-70mm 2.8 is still at $1686, thats close enough to be called $1700

Hello experts, I have beginner camera Nikon D40. All the lens may not be compatible for this puppy compared to D90 or others. Where do I get the information on compatibility? What do I need to look for?
I'm wondering to get (18-200/ 18-300 ), or (55-200 or 55-300) lens. I've 18-55 lens came with camera. |

I like the 35mm so much it never really comes off. I have a macro lens that I absolutely love and take many bug shots and also the Tamron 18-270. I felt I would never take off the 18-270 when I first got it but it is soooooo soft compared to the 35 and indoors the 18-270 is slow to focus. Boy, I'm spoiled with the 35. Really looking at some of the 17-50mm lens that are 2.8 all the way through. It would help in situations when my back is against the wall and 35mm is a bit too close. |

I just got the d5200 with the 18-55mm and 55-300mm. Was thinking of getting the 18-300mm. Is it worth it to do this? I'm looking for 2 lenses. So I don't mind getting rid of the other two. I'm a beginner but want something I can learn and grow with the next few years.
