Lenovo is actually making themselves look bad by selling anything other than ThinkPads.

Lenovo ThinkPads have a totally separate warranty department than the rest of the products lines and they are built to last awhile.

I'm in for one. Now I got to flip the one I just bought at Frys for $268 (not as good as this model) the other day.

Warning: the trackpad on this laptop is infuriating. It's covered in little bumps so it's not smooth, my finger tends to stick & not move smoothly. Had to turn off tap-to-click because of so many accidental clicks.

The brown color is hardly noticeable (looks black in most light), unless I got sent a black one by mistake.

Wiped windows 8 and installed 7. Was a bit of a pain (had to change a BIOS setting or two, then remove all partitions from the hard drive (ie recovery partition, boot partition, etc).

Downloading the drivers from the lenovo site was a pain. There's no driver pack, just individual drivers. The site isn't very responsive though the download speeds were decent.

The keyboard is pretty mushy, though they did manage to squeeze a num pad in a 15.6" laptop.

The screen, while fairly low resolution seemed bright.

I just got done wiping it & getting it set up for a friend, she bought it from newegg a few days ago for a higher price. I wouldn't get this laptop for myself due to the trackpad/keyboard issues but that may just be a personal opinion.

Will you be using touchscreen a lot? It is not a convertible. Personally, touchscreen laptops can be had for around $500--600 with one of that specs, so if you wait for a sale or something you can do better.

I also was lucky enough to get my hand on one of the Lenovo Outlet for i7-3520M @ 2.90GHz laptop (scratch & dent) few days ago for $446 + tax. I was afraid that it might get cancel, but I got the shipping confirmation yesterday. The inventory comes and goes. With these Lenovo outlet deals, you just have to keep on refreshing it the day of. I have try many, many times before seeing one being available.

Prior to this, I also brought an scratch & dent i5 U400 for $400. As for the scratch & dent, I cannot see any at all, looks brand new to me. Just hope I have the same luck with this new i7 laptop.
