Update: I not only go the $75 off coupon on the purchase I made today, but I went back to the Office Depot where I purchased the first one a few days ago and they gave me the $75. No hesitation or hassle in either store. BTW, one store was in Eden Prairie, MN, the other was Roseville, MN -- on opposite ends of the Twin Cities metro area.

This is unfortunate as the coupon was for "any Windows 8/RT laptop". It was not model specific. Plus Staples also has good deals the coupon would've compounded on. For example:

Plus the Lenovo Z580 (with better specifications) they do have would've been brought fairly close in price to OD's G580.

It's not as though Staples put the coupon out there instead of putting their laptops on sale. They put their laptops on sale with comparable discounts to OD and then had a coupon in addition too.

What is your reason for wanting to use something other than Windows 8? I'm personally not looking forward to it (and don't want to get into a debate with other users about it like you've probably seen here & there), but it's Microsoft we're talking about so I might as well get it over with. If I can't stand it there are other shells that can be used.

If I can't be productive with Windows 8 I'll probably try "Classic Shell" or do all of my productivity task through a Windows 7 VirtualBox virtual machine.

Double click on the icon that says energy management - its by the clock & volume icon in the task bar
window will open with options for dust removal
in the battery section choose Optimized battery health

Bought 2 back on Monday, 2/18/13, and then went to two different Office Depot's last night to get my receipts adjusted by honoring the Staples $75 off coupon. Thank goodness the two Office Depot's were less than a mile apart from each.

This was in Denver/Glendale, CO, by the way! The store manager were nice and upfront in honoring the coupon. I simply went to two because of the coupon stating "1 per customer."

So depressed (jealous) that I visited two stores and they both nixed me despite being AT THE REGISTER ready to pay AND having asked and called in advance if they would take the coupons!!!!

And I come here and tons of people are happy as clams I am happy for you guys, however !!! Good work.

I am in your boat, I called and they straight told me the Staples coupons were fake and they would not accept them, the guy repeatedly told me they were fake and that Staples did not put them out.
