So is $448 final cost pretty good for an xps 8500, with these specs?

fatty wallet has 6% back right now for dell home, but it shares a cart with outlet, so it should work.

Wait for better prices to come around. I picked up 3 of the systems with i7-3770, 12GB, 2TB, BD/DVD combo, nVidia GT 640 for $471 each (without having to but the overpriced monitor) shipped a few weeks ago. I should have ordered more.. Those prices will come back around again. |

It was a deal AMEX ran for their cardholders back in November/December I believe. It is dead now and you can't get in on it. Basically if you bought 600 at Dell you only were charged 450 by AMEX. I was able to apply a coupon and get 650 gift cards for 450. |

As someone who has bought many Dells from their outlet for over a decade, I must say that I'm very disappointed with the prices as of late. Even with a 25% coupon, most of their laptop prices border on non-competitive. Just one man's opinion...
