Lightweight 1510grams stree bike wheels + Tires $300 + Ship - Neuvation
President's Day Sale at Neuvation: Presidents Day Sale - Get two Michelin Lithion2 tires and tubes for only $45 with the purchase of this set of wheels.
Short Story: two versions of 700c wheels, the decently lightweight R28sl (1510 grams) or the aerodynamic M28 Aero (1758 grams)
R28sl 2013 Wheel Set 1510 grams (without skewers and tires)
http://www.neuvationcycling.com/p...6605,10844
These will run you $294 plus $38 shipping (to East Coast) when mounted up with Michelin Lithion 2 tires and tubes (tube brand not specified).
Cheaper without the tires and tubes ($249 plus shipping).
These get pretty good reviews overall. The spokes are round, not bladed. Buy these if you are under 180 lbs and are not a really fast rider, but you want good acceleration.
The other deal is for the deeper "aero" rim M28X wheels with bladed spokes.

$169+shipping without the wheels, $214+shipping with the Lithion2 tires
These are heavier (1740 grams per pair), but have the advantage at higher speeds (say above 20 mph). Better/stronger for heavier riders (clydesdales).
Both those wheelsets are priced about $50 under typical. The hubs are branded Neuvation, but they look like Taiwanese Novatec hubs which get pretty good reviews using sealed Japanese steel bearings. If they are Novatec hubs, you can even get ceramic bearings for them.
Happy riding. Spring is just around the corner!

Quote : In honor of our Presidents Washington and Lincoln (who died before the invention of the bicycle). I am making a crazy offer of $45 (SRP for one tire is $40) for a set of Michelin Lithion2 tires and two tubes with the purchase of a set of M28 Aero or R28 SL wheels. Not only that, the pricing on the wheels is already as low as I have ever offered. So you can get the M28 Aero wheels (1750 grams) for $169 with two tires and tubes for $204, or the R28 SL wheels (1500 grams) with the same rubber for $294. |
