Does this have the official Sigma 5 year warranty? Is Buydig an authorized reseller?

Also does anyone know if the lens hood is included? The description only says lens, caps, and case.

Tried out a Sigma 55-200mm once. Decent color renditions and ergonomics. I am sure this lens is also decent but the lack of IS (OS in Sigma-speak) makes this 70-300mm much less desirable than the $150 Canon 55-250mm IS often found on Craigslist, unless you intend to carry a tripod.

As for the 30mm/50mm lenses, decent price but not the lowest in recent history.

Also note that for Sigma lenses:

DC = crop bodies ONLY (anything that's not a 1D/5D)
DG = all digital bodies

This Sigma is decent lens for someone on a very tight budget and wants the 70-300 range, but if you have the funds, go for Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD for $350 AR. Sharper, better built, works with FF, optical stabilization and ultrasonic focusing.

YES, hood included and lens comes in a nice padded nylon zipper case. I got this from buydig last summer and it has really surprised me..I'm getting better image quality than I got from the Canon 75-300 and the IS Canon 55-250. Build quality is top notch too. If worried about no IS with this lens..don't. I have captured some sharp images hand held, but if at upper zoom range, bracing on something solid or using a monopod/tripod works great. As with all of these big zoom lens, they like lots of light and struggle in low light. Btw, macro is really, really, good with good light. A rock solid budget lens.

SO, that said, what does anyone recommend for a 'cheap', but decent TRUE macro lens? I currently use some extension tubes and get some decent shots with the 18-55mm Canon lens, but I'd like something that's better.

Just a side note... Its 144 on amazon.
