This should not work, just a typical case of people with too much time on their hands scamming clueless reps. Price match policy [staples.com]:

How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price?
All coupons and rebates (including Easy Rebatessm, instant rebates or savings, and Staples or manufacturer mail-in rebates) are deducted from the price of the Staples product when calculating a price match.


So, they should tell you that you are already getting a cheaper price than Amazon and are not eligible for a refund.

It's worked for me and many others in the past just fine for deals like these. If you don't try it definitely won't work. This is one of those deals that requires an attempt and isn't guaranteed. Those that get in early...bird... Like most of these deals they get shut down when the stores get slick hammered.

just take a print out (that shows the date) and say that you placed the order yesterday, when the price was $69 on amazon.

Okay I think I can answer this one. The last time about three months ago when I canceled an order I used rewards on they gave me the rewards as a credit to my credit card! I was like REALLY! Yep, they said that was how they did it. Could have been a fluke but that's what they did. Now I have a Premier Account though so that could be why?

What is the priority phone number for plus or premier members?

If staples releases a % off coupon this week I'll be sure to get in on this deal. Add in a competitors coupon and this might net a few dollars without the need of a price match.

Apparently, there is an "application in to corporate" regarding this item, so they aren't giving PMs until that is settled. She said to call back in several days (14 or so). I asked what happens if I cancel, and OP is correct, she said I'd get the reward value back on my CC. So I went with that.

So I'd have to wait 14 days to find out if they'll PM or not? Will this still be <$70 on Amazon 14 days from now?
