What kind of data speed on 3G and 4G have you guys gotten with the Evo V on virgin mobile?
I've had an Optimus V for over a year and the data speeds are extremely slow, around 200-800 kilobits/sec. Since I still have the $25 plan I want to make sure it's worth it to upgrade to the $35 plan |

Page plus is an mvno on verizon's network, so coverage is pretty good. My wife and I are both on the 12$/ month plan, since we have wifi virtually all the time and can get by on the 10mb per month, for occasional maps or email. We have a skype subscription for 2.99/mo that we use for all of our lengthy conversations (we have google voice/GrooveIP, but just weren't satisfied with the call quality). |

I use skype on the phone some (I've got a thundebolt, wife has Droid X), it works ok, but we rarely use more than half of our 250 minutes so when I am out I just use my network minutes. I primarily only use skype when I am at a computer, and I haven't had any problems with it. I don't know how long it has been this way, but you can configure Skype to display your cell number for when you're calling. I've found that at least with our phones, over the same wifi network, skype works better on a desktop than on the phone (and even better if the computer is hooked up with ethernet). I don't know how important connection speed is, but we have cable 25 down and 5 up. |
