i used to think anything over 2gb of vram was ridiculous until i maxed out my GTX 670 vram playing Skyrim at 2560x1440 resolution with ~50 mods and several graphical tweaks using nvidia inspector...
just about every game that comes out these days has a pretty decent modding community. usually the first mods to come out are high resolution textures. these eat vram. if you also like cranking anti-aliasing as high as it will go, extra vram comes in handy. if you are playing at 1920x1080 with no more than 4x AA and have no desire for high resolution texture mods, 4gb is overkill for you. |

Like most people are saying 4GB is more than necessary for a 1920x1080 setup. That's the majority of gamers. If you run just one normal sized monitor this card is not for you. It is for people with big screens and higher resolutions or people running multiple monitor setups (like myself). This is the card I would buy because it performs just a hair under a 680, allows for the big resolutions with the extra VRAM and all at a price about 100 bucks cheaper than a comparable 680.
Good deal OP. Too bad most people are noobs and don't understand what a card like this is used for. Slickest deals so far:
