I wonder which I should get. The $10 one from Harbor Freight or this one with 3 stars for $30. I'll probably use it two times a year...

Bought this two days ago at 39.99, luckily sears price matches up to 14 days after purchase. A good number of the 1 star reviews are "it doesn't go high enough" well you know how high it goes when you purchased it. A couple more about it breaking, which happens. Luckily it has a pretty decent warranty on it. Craftsman used to be lifetime, I think it is now only on the actual head and not the calibration mechanism, that's only covered for a year. Anyhow, a good deal.

Interesting that the 3/8" measures to 250'lb while the 1/2" only goes to 150'lb. Had an email for $7 in points with $40 tool purchase so basically got a filler for free (pliers from this thread: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/8...led-lights). Thanks OP and JoshuaB for the other link!

--hmm second guessing myself, after reading reviews the 3/8" drive measures in inch-lb! is that possible? 250 in-lb would only be like 20 ft-lb!

be careful of this. I had mine break in 1 year and it was out of warranty.

It says 90 days warranty for the whole thing, not very confidence inspiring...

Stop comparing Sears/Craftsman of the 80s to the Sears/Craftsman of today. Their tools suck now. Even with a lifetime warranty, will Sears be around in 5-10 years?

Just fyi... there is a mistake in the online literature for the 3/8. I bought this thinking it would go to 250gtlbs like it claims, but it actually only goes up to 250 inlbs. Not even enough for my lugs. Going to return it. Waste of my time unfortunately.

Is craftsman truly devaluating? If thats even a word?
My father buys nothing but craftsman because he has been a buyer for years, what tools should he be buying? I was just about to buy that craftsman shovel deal earlier for him, now truly rethinking this.

I would get this for $32, which you can use with any socket wrench of any size (1/2", 3/8", 1/4"): http://www.harborfreight.com/digi...68283.html You can quickly set it to any torque setting from about 30-147, and you can use it with a small 1/4" wrench for low torque settings or a huge breaker bar for really high settings. Great little tool! Oh yeah, and LIFETIME WARRANTY!!

I had one of these and it broke, so just an FYI.
