For what it's worth, I have the z570 model (bought early last year) and the one major complaint I have is the screen has to be tilted at the right angle (limited viewing angle) to read and have clear images otherwise the picture quality has a washed out look.

I tryed for a price match at b&h and it was a no go.

I just can't bite on this. I would rather spend $100-$200 more to have the sweet combination of 1600x900 or better resolution, Ivy Bridge quad core, and snappy discrete graphics. Or I would rather save $100 and go with an i5-based solution. The dual core Ivy Bridge i7 isn't that much quicker than the dual core Ivy Bridge i5's. The i5-3230M and i5-3320M are around 4000 Passmark points, the rare i5-3360M is around 4300 points, and this i7-3520M is only 4400-something. That's not enough to justify any sort of price difference. Even on sale this isn't that hot.

For those who haven't adopted Windows 8, there will be a slight learning curve. Otherwise, this is a solid consumer based laptop with good specs as your paying for a i7 3-rd gen (notice the cost savings they took with 4gb ram instead of 8gb). I wouldn't label this an ultra book as it is definitely a bit on the heavy side @ 5.84 lbs. Overall good deal for those with a Frys near you. Future proof it with 8gb of ram, using the 500gb storage as an external drive and replacing it with a 128/256mb SSD.

For those of us that don't have a Frys, tiger direct (compusa) has the same model computer in store and they do price match Frys.

Can someone tell me why this is considered a better deal than the Staples Z580 for the same price. And don't say the processor, because the performance difference is negligible. The Staples one has twice the memory and more storage capacity.
