Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 - $74.99 + FSSS @ Amazon

i was wondering if anyone knows if this will work on a asus x58 sabertooth motherboard (http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/S...ifications). i was thinking bout getting 3 of them, and selling the other.

No they will not work. The RAM you need is Triple Channel.

Your board only handles 4GB per slot, I believe, so these would not work

Will these work in windows 2008 servers?

What if I want to play SC2 and the Sims 3... at the same time? And browse the web (in Chrome with 30+ tabs open)... it's shocking how little lag there is, where a few years ago, this would be unthinkable. Course, the SSD probably plays a large role, but can never get enough of RAM.

There is no difference between "triple channel" and "double channel" RAM. It's marketing BS.

Dual Channel RAM = Two data channels (think streams of data over a bus) from two sticks of RAM. Usually multiple banks of RAM.

Triple Channel RAM = Three data channels (think streams of data over a bus) from three sticks of RAM. Usually multiple banks of RAM (x58 boards).

My work laptop ("mobile workstation") is currently running 32 GB. Also, 16 GB may not be a waste if you want to run VMs.

Test them with MemTest as soon as you get them. The last 2 times I've bought Corsair RAM I've had to send them back due to errors. I like their other products though.

Even the top tier build only has 8GB of memory. And for good reason, it can actually hinder performance in gaming.

I'm still searching, I've been thinking of doing 3x sets of the Samsung low voltage memory.

To reiterate, triple channel memory is just three sticks of memory, tested that work with each other. You just need to buy the right amount of sticks and test them with memtest.

This is what I had been looking at, looks discontinued. Was going for about $35 a set in November\December.

Buy 3x sets of these = 24gb of RAM. Runs cool and at a good speed.
