Just a bios mod that among other things enables hot-swapping. Personally I'm not sure I'd use it since it invalidates the warranty.

this is a pretty good deal but i found you can do alot more with WHS 2011 on a custom built box like because the hardware is kind of limiting. I built a WHS 2011 machine that has 8 GB of ram and a quad core AMD processing so i could host virtual machine and transcode media in real-time without issues. This is still a really good deal if you want a little more functionality than a traditional NAS and do not think your hardware needs will be too intense.

Does anyone think the N40L will ever get near $200 again? I'd pull the trigger is it was below $220. I really want one of these. I bet I'd see a electricity savings over the course of a year with my 24/7 on HomeServer. Right now its a old Dell 8400 with a P4 3.4 sucking down the watts!

I bought one of these for $59 last year, but never got around to using it. I ended up selling it on ebay for $275 two months ago.
