Um... not quite 1. "Built-in 200 W Flex-ATX power supply" is included with the case 2. I have 0 use for the 250GB drive. Will be SSD boot + eventually RAID 5/6 3. I have little use for the 2GB ECC RAM... planning to run 8GB RAM 4. For apples to apples comparison, gotta build up the HP box too. So call that a wash... actually probably easier to deal with with the whole unit disassembled to start with. I suppose the real question was processor vs processor and such... |

The ECS MB use laptop ram and has only 1 ram slot, first laptop ram is always more expensive, and there is no ECC laptop ram available, in case you want ECC. If you want to go 16GB ram, it is impossible for this ECS MB right now. Last edited by duracell; 02-19-2013 at 04:22 PM.. |

Not having at least 5 SATA ports is a bit of an inconvenience, but OTOH... I don't like software RAID to start with, so when upgrading from RAID 1 to RAID 5/6, I'd want to install a dedicated RAID card in either setup. So how do the processors stack up?
