LOL!!! bring your own food? I would never buy anything edible at ikea, and now i'll think twice before buying furniture. Bought a small 2-tier bench for $20. Could not get the screws all the way in. They made the holes smaller than the diameter of the screws. Didn't want to struggle to remove them. Its not my problem. Took the assembled bench back like i always bring assembled small items if there's a defect. Chairs, shelves, etc. Now CS wants to give me store credit because the item is out of the box and assembled. I looked at the posted return policy but there's nothing stating furniture needs to be never assembled. How could i have known without assembling? I offered to disassemble the shelf and put it back in the box, if they provided a larger hex wrench but CS said it would still be considered out of the box and assembled prior to return. I've never had this before. Always got full refund with very few or no questions asked. CS made a phone call and explained everything to someone and then agreed to issue a refund. Lesson learned. If for whatever reason you're not happy with IKEA furniture do not take it out of the box and assemble it or else you'll get store credit if you return it. Just keep it in the box indefinitely. Hope 90 days still applies. I'll be contacting IKEA headquarters to confirm this. IKEA doesn't sell perfect furniture. I often have to mod something or request additional hardware to be shipped from Sweden. |

Food is not bad, they are able to keep costs so low because they are a "non profit" *coughs* |

That's why i didn't want to drill to expand. I had to use full force and still could barely get the screws a little more than half way. If i forced the screws the wood would crack for sure. The return process wasn't what i typically go through. Its not about tight holes. lol Its about IKEA CS. PS - hope i never have to taste IKEA food. |
