Maybe so, but that doesn't mean they don't put out a high quality product. I've got a TNF Apex Bionic jacket that I've put though New Hampshire mountain hell for three years now and its held up admirably. They don't BS when they claim a jacket is "windproof", I can definitely attest to that.

Might be the only thing I own that is as appropriate for a climb as it is for a night out on the town.

Yea it isn't as big as it looks! It's not going to make her look "big" like bubble jackets and other downs are. Just make sure you buy her the right size in the women's. If you're not sure just get 2 different sizes for her to be sure and return the other at a B&M location.

It only feel likes you're wearing an extra layer underneath but you're not.

Don't know how this deal is so hot when it's misleading and definitely doesn't include ALL North Face jackets. I just tried to buy the Bionic and its full price. If anything the sale is mainly only for the mens Denali and even then I've seen better prices. It's almost offseason now and I've seen them as low as $71
