I posted in the other Dicks Sporting goods Nike 50% tread that I ordered my items in the physical store and they put in Promo code for free shipping to my house. They seemed like they always do it and its bi big deal. I would say YMMV but if you want free ship, have a store close and order less than $99 might as well. Saved me almost $10

They decided to entirely pull all sporting rifles. I didn't have an order with them that was cancelled or anything (wish I did, planned to, but didn't), but I disagree with their decision and I show it with my wallet

I clicked the "send order" button after selecting paypal as my payment option. The site said something like "you will be emailed and charged when the item ships" next to the send me button. It took me to another post-shopping Dick's page.

However I did not receive a confirmation email that I even purchased anything, and my item is still in my shopping cart. Anyone else encounter this? I don't want to order it again and end up with 2 jackets! Or go through the hassle of returning one....

Don't pay with Paypal, if you need to return in-store, they only give store credit. Otherwise you can return by mail for a $6 fee.

So if I order over $100 to get free shipping can I just return the items I do not want and save $6 on shipping. Or does Dick's take pro-rate the return to cover their shipping

Yes you can do that, but pay with a credit card. Do not pay with paypal if you want to return something.
