Audio via avr is problem, unless you run a optical from tv to avr.

so based on comments here can I conclude this product is NOT for someone who has no knowledge on what widi is? In other words can a non-tech savvy person just start using it without any tech assistance out of the box?

I just called Lenovo, my laptop has an i5 but no Intel wireless card, so not compatible. Be careful, there are lots of requirements u need to have this work

I have a Lenovo Laptop and there is widi icon on the desktop. Is it fair to conclude that my lappy has widi in it?

I have a Dell e6410 laptop with a Dell 1520 802.11 b/g/n wireless card. Does this mean it will not work?

Here is something to look at: PTV3000 [androidcentral.com] Ebay has them for 40, open box... Got one and looks like new one shipped from Chino, CA... Might be somehow connected with BB and Cowboom. |

Just for information, I spent the weekend trying to get A PTV3000 going with no success on a Win8 laptop. Then I read somewhere to update the units firmware and now it works great.

I bought this the last time around, takes some work to get it working, make sure you have the latest drivers, once connected works as advertised, i even hooked it up to my Yamaha av receiver.

One way to tell if your laptop is widi compatible is to search for "widi" on your computer. If it has the widi app already on it, it has the hardware and is compatible.

I just use my Sony wireless bluray player along with their Homestream software to stream all media to my tv. Works extremely well.
