I agree. The prices have not fallen since the move to manufacturing in China. The only difference I have seen is these sales are more common and the craftsman club sales are not nearly as good.
Craftsman Club is almost a joke at this point. the regular sale prices + coupon codes give us a better deal.

a prime example is that ball bearing basic tool chest. during Craftman Club they were advertising it as being 31% off for members which brought the price down to $299 supposedly. the president's day sale this week it's priced at $219. hilarious

basically Craftsman Club Saver Week has turned into "let's see how we can trick our Craftsman Club members into thinking they are getting a great deal". this is what has become of the Craftsman brand once Sears started to be managed like a hedge fund but bled out almost like it was owned by a private equity firm. i just read on MarketWatch that when Sears reports they are estimated to post a little over a -$1B loss. it's sad to think that i will be profiting from shorting the stock of a company that gave a livelihood for decades for an entire generation of my family.

oh the humanity

I own this set and it is good...just one drawback...the case...when you open it...the tools often fall out of place....its a drag.
I came here to say the same thing.

What you need to understand is that Sears isn't a retailer anymore. It's being run by Wall Street, hedge fund, private equity types. They don't actually know about how to run a retailer. They don't know how to create value. All they know how to do is loot value from established companies. That's why they're called "Vulture Capitalists."

Sears is run by Eddie Lampert, who ran hedge funds for years and now is using Sears to line his own pockets. He doesn't actually need to do a good job of retailing to make money for himself. He just sells off Sears locations (Sears was unique in that it owned the land its stores were on. To "create value," Lampert borrowed heavily against that land. Long term, this kills the company. But short term...Merry Christmas for Eddie!), cuts operations to the bone by hiring minimum wage workers and failing to invest in stores, and by....selling off quality brands like Craftsman to Communist China.

Sears is a poster child for how Wall Street types have ruined America.

my order has been in process since yesterday morning. i called up and they said the Fraud Division is holding it. wtf? i was transferred to the Fraud Division and they said the fraud hold was removed this morning so it should process soon.

i just got the processing email this afternoon

then another email 5 mins later saying my order was canceled since the item is out of stock. LOL!!! unreal - how easily i forget how much of a PITA it is to deal with this company.

luckily the stores nearby have stock and i can do an in-store pickup. now i have to place a new order and make a special trip - which defeats the whole purpose of SYWR MAX.

epic fail

set only goes to 15mm in wrenches, this is a "work on your mower set" not a "work on your car set"

awesome set, but I think I am going to try to purchase one off craiglist that has a nice racked style case and more 6 PT sockets.

true, but this is far from a "do it all" kit anyways.
i bought this kit mainly for the large assortment of sockets, not for the wrenches. i have an entire 26pc wrench set also that i use.

look at the WIKI for a spreadsheet i made comparing several sets

the 154pc set has way more 6pt sockets than the 192pc set, which is why i ditch that in favor of this one
