I'm all about real-life reviews and impressions of products but you're not exactly giving folks a lot to go on. Perhaps a sentence or two regarding read/write speeds, TRIM or stability/reliability might be a wee bit more useful than "this drive is awesome let's rawk HOOAH!" |

This is a good drive. For practical purposes and not bench testing, decide on price and the color of the case. Last edited by xmed; 02-18-2013 at 09:15 AM.. Reason: graphs More Americans can name the Three Stooges than can name the three branches of government. |

good deal.. I really wished i jumped on that ~500GB samsung deal from buydig. The regrets I have.
I have the m4 in teh 128GB version back in the day when ~150 was a good deal. It had blue screen once every week and an update came out. Since then I have only seen 1 Blue screen restart in the past 4 months? It's pretty reliable but I want a bigger drive now. |

You need transfer software and a SATA/USB device. Something like this [amazon.com] [amazon.com]. If you already have a USB 2.5" drive case lying around, you can get the sw free. If not, this is a good solution. |

For real world use, longevity, and proven reliability, the M4 is in the top class. Also, note it's a 256, not a 250 or 240. It's always nice to have a little extra size along with the lower price! Last edited by Rexman; 02-18-2013 at 10:06 AM.. |

Several questions before I bite on this M4…
Can one partition this SSD for dual-boot service(I was thinking half and half) without shortening the life span of the drive? (XP and Windows 7) What kind of solutions are people using to protect against SSD failure? I'm scared of losing everything…the OS, downloaded games, etc… Are people RAID1-ing their SSD with a HDD? Does this impact gaming or other performance, especially if the drive one is RAID1ing to is of a larger size? |
