You can purchase it online or in the store. It's even better with a coupon - got mine on eBay. Instantly delivered. Our old cordless phone is slowly dying - I've been shopping around for one. Was going to purchase on Amazon a lower end version of this phone. Best price I've seen on a panasonic cordless phone with 5 handsets and blue tooth. Awesome deal, especially if you like having extra phones around the house (or store them as a back up when one handset breaks down)

This might help. I was curious too. From the owner's manual, it looks like others can join the conversation (or get another handset) by just by hitting talk (answer button) on another receiver. Both phones can hear the conversation then. You can also block call sharing between receivers.

"To join the conversation, press (answer button).Note: A maximum of 3 parties (including 1 outside party) can join a conversation using 2 extensions. (3-way conference)
To prevent other users from joining your conversations with outside callers, turn call sharing mode off (page 38)."

I have the predecessor model 7643 which is quite similar. I think it's a great phone, no complaints. Link-to-cell is very convenient.

Yes but your deal has only 2 handsets. This deal has 5 handsets. $20 difference for an extra three handsets.

I was tempted to get that one but this staples deal is much better. Glad to hear you like the phone and the link-to-cell is a good feature. Your older model with 5 handsets is $99 on Amazon.

It depends, the new 77 series model dropped a lot of (possibly important) features that the older 76 model had.

Some of the features on the 77 series that the OP linked to are not present compared to my 76 review, but they're similar enough that the review might come in handy to someone. Refer to santy83's link for differences between the new 77 and the old 76.
