Doesn't surprise me. No one wants to teach middle/highschoolers due to all the BS involved. Small kids are still more or less polite and harmless, sometimes you get a bathroom accident or whatnot, but the work level is low (not much "homework" or grading) and the hours are shorter.

No worries; the government will just create earlier and earlier "pre-K" schools and programs in order to hire more teachers and make budgets bigger, unions bigger, and to indoctrinate your kids sooner.

I was unaware statistics could be propaganda.. To many teachers, to few positions. Supply and demand. Let's take this form a product based approach.. iPhones are not selling as well this year. In previous years discounts did not exist. They sold as many as available. There is now a mounting surplus.. magically the discounts arise for the first time in.. well.. 5+ years. When supply exceeds demands, consumers benefit. The highest paying straight out of schools are the ones that are most difficult to find qualified individuals. If it's to easy to find qualified individuals, wouldn't the inverse apply? In terms of education elementary ed. is deemed one of the "simplest" or easiest degrees to acquire. Notice the vast need still for qualified science and math teachers.. |

even back from 2011. http://www.nctq.org/p/tqb/viewStory.jsp?i
we put out immensely more certified teachers per year than those that retire.. what does that equal? SURPLUS.. worst yet the number of certified teachers put out each year.. grows and grows.. well beyond the BLS projections of needed teaching positions. This is not confusing.. We have a surplus.. I know a number of people that are "certified teachers" with elementary education degrees. But I don't know one that is an actual teacher. In addition I know a good number of mathematics graduates that specialized in mathematics education. Each of them went received a job in a school within 6 months and is still doing so. You're attempting to dispute facts. There's a surplus of certified teachers for elementary school. |
