I travel overseas atleast once a year. So if I want to unlock my phone I can do that outside of US where this stupid law does not apply and use it freely once I return.

What makes this such a nice deal is that AT&T aka The Death Star will usually unlock any other GSM phone about 60-90 days into your contract with them, but with the iPhone they make you wait two years!
