No. I won't. I unlocked it overseas. Therefore I did not do anything illegal in the US There is nothing in the law that says that you cannot use phones that you have unlocked anywhere else other than the US.

But ebay is checking. The got my iphone unlocked like on the 8th and that auction that I won has been removed because of the new law. Even though the seller unlocked my phone before it happened but ebay went ahead and removed the listing. Even all the listings the seller had were removed too. There are a few sellers still doing it that I used a few days ago but he was located in Canada and it still shows on my account so if its a seller outside of the US I guess its fine on ebay. AT&T isn't checking but ebay is removing listings from sellers who unlock phones.

They say to wait about 1-2 days or so. I would imagine they have lots of requests to process now.

I stand corrected! I bet it's AT&T. The Verizon iPhone has the microSIM unlock for use a "world phone" I believe for use outside of the US. Since most of these requests will be for phone built before January 26th, 2013, everything should be all good.

I have an old iphone 3g in my drawer that is currently unlocked and jailbroken using ultrasn0w. It has iOs 4.0 If I use this unlock will it lose it's jailbreak? Will I also have to upgrade the iOs or can I keep the existing one?

This makes it factory unlocked. So you shouldn't loose jailbreak. I got a 3g unlocked on the 8th and then jailbroke it. Was able to update the iOS but I think for the 3g it only goes to like 4.2 I think. This will make the phone as if it was unlocked from the factory.

Obviously you haven't done this before. And anyways, nowhere did I restrict my idea to unlocking only iPhones.
