We have these at work, solid laptops. Quite heavy though.

Good display but Dell has about an 12X markup. Sell the hdd, sell the ram, sell the warranty, etc.
16GB of ram upgrade: $705..WTH. It normally goes for $50.
I can get a blu-ray drive for under $40 but $370 is their upgrade...talk about markup.

The price sounds good.

Ugh, awesome laptop but not exactly one I would want to be carrying around with me all day (10 pounds with the AC adapter!).

The firepro and 7970 are the same chip. The drivers are written to support cad and work stuff for the firepro while the 7970 is geared to gaming...cant say that i have data to show there is an improvement as i flashed it right away....Yeah i know, 3 year warranty is voided and all but im pretty sure i can figure out how to flash back when needed...

I'm not too familiar with this flashing video card stuff. Can you explain more about it?

Call me a skeptic but I REALLY REALLY doubt you can get 7970 performance out of a M6600 by flashing it.

it might just detect it as a 7970 for compatiablity reasons but it will not performe at that level.

I did alittle google and I didn't really see any info on m6600 to 7970 flashing.


Prove me wrong by providing link. it will make this a hot deal.

The deal is for a 4600 which comes with a Firepro 5950
I was talking about the 6600 (the 17" model) that comes with the firepro 8900
