screen quality?
Any comments on the panel quality on this? Is this the Dell PremierColor IPS RGB-LED backlit 1080p screen? I used an m4500 with the 1920x1200 IPS RGB screen for about six months and it was gorgeous. I would cringe looking at the poor quality of my my own 15" 1680x1050 TN panel after that. It was like a $500 option on the m4500, so I doubt it is so. I would definitely jump on this if the screen is of the same quality. Good graphics card, processor, and display resolution for the price, though. Thanks OP! |

Look like dell clearing all their stock, is a steal if dock/warranty matter to you. No switchable graphic though so battery suck a bit.
Dream on if you expect a IPS.. the 1080p is tpyical 9x% sRGB TN panel. Edit: this is a tank compare to your dell consumer. Last edited by baii; 02-18-2013 at 11:41 PM.. |

By the way there is no 7970m firefpro, it is a 6970m and you don't need to flash jack.
7970m is around 2time + more powerful than a 6970m. You can, however, buy a 7970m and stick it in though. Above apply on the m6600, the m4600 use different format GPU. Last edited by baii; 02-18-2013 at 11:45 PM.. |

I have one of these for my work laptop and the weight is ridiculous. Other than that it's a decent machine but not mind-blowing in any way and I've had some weird quirks with the display drivers. Probably the only two real highlights are the above average screen and decent speakers.

Wow at these upgrade prices...
$370 for blu-ray... ($40-60 part) $705 for 16gb ram ($100-120 parts) $500-1350 for 256 to 512 SSD ($100-300 in parts) $50 for a 1920x1080 screen... Somehow looking at their other prices I kind of get the impression this may be the worst looking screen you've ever seen in your life... |
