Overall a really good TV and I'm happy with it... just don't get too excited about the 3D hype, it gets real old real quick.

I am so torn on this set. I've read all the negativity concerning the false claims of 120Hz. This would replace my last CRT set and I had set 1080p and 120Hz as minimum requirements...

Can anyone who has this set comment on motion blur? Does the latest firmware help at all?

Anything over 60hz is a gimmick. Why you might ask? Because all source material is broadcast at 60 fps (fps and hz are effectively interchangeable). What this means is these 120 hz sets have to GUESS what to display on every other frame. It's literally impossible to do and approximation is the best that can be done.

The only reason for 120hz sets is for active 3D, in which each eye is sent a 60hz signal via the active shutter glasses.

Seriously, I just replaced a 7 year old 32" Samsung LCD TV. Motion blur was NEVER a noticeable problem, nor was the fact that it was 720p. Side note: if you plan on sitting more than 10 feet from your TV 1080p is largely useless to, but our videophile and tv manufacturing overlords don't want us to know that.
