Wordpress e-commerce

I am in the process of moving from Dreamweaver for building websites, to building sites for bands, mom and pop type stores and when done, want to "hand the keys over" and be done with it. I will build the site, help train them in making changes, get my check and leave.

What made you choose wordpress? It is one I have been playing with. I like it's ease of use but dislike it's tendancy to leave date time stamps, and sometimes when switching templates, you get what the template developer wanted not necessarily what you want. For example, I built a test site, switched to one template and a share to facebook, twitter and wordpress blog icon popped up on the bottom of EACH post and to each box of the website, destroying the look I was going for. Sure two tutuorials later I figured out how to turn it off.

I will be playing with Joomla after work, have you considered it? I watched This Joomla vs Wordpress video [youtube.com] and was somewhat swayed.

Is there a reason why you decided on wordpress vs another... or are your like me and overwhelmed by which way to go???
