The foil fix isn't working for me - when I fold it around back it turns off my kindle, any thoughts on stopping the too-strong magnet?

Maybe try a few more layers? Make sure you have it at the right spot. The weird thing is mine works perfectly fine folded back without the foil...

I just got mine last night and I think it's great for $5. The first time I put it on my Kindle it would put it to sleep when I folded it back around. However, I took my Kindle out, messed around with the cover a bit (to try to break it in I suppose), re-installed it and now it works fine with no accidental sleep. I'll have to try again today after work to see if it was just a fluke or not.

One thing I noticed on mine is that right out of the box it doesn't close on the Kindle very easily. It seems like part of the binding gets caught on an edge and doesn't close unless you maneuver it properly (by sort of pulling the front cover up toward you and around to the right). I'm hoping it just needs to some time to break in, otherwise it'll be quite annoying to have to close it in a specific way each time instead of just closing it casually.

Folks, aluminum foil does not block magnets, it only adds space. You need a very thin layer of steel. an old razor blade perhaps? (The foil works for some people as a spacer, not a blocker)

You sir, along with science, win this thread! Not to mention the production of aluminum has a huge environmental impact so please don't waste it as padding lol use a wad of tissue or something similar instead.

Got mine today. It definitely doesn't fit the basic Kindle. Nice set-up for the Paperwhite though. TU and repped OP.

Got mine today and LOVE how thin it is. I had an Amazon-style Paperwhite cover, but this is noticeably thinner and lighter.

I do have the problem with it sleeping when folding it back. I've tried the tin foil folded multiple times, but no luck.

I'm wondering if one of those thin metal squares they sometimes have in DVD packages for security would work...
