PC Games: Brink or Mafia II Free after $10 Rebate + Free Shipping

Thanks for posting this deal. Neither game worth the time to actually play, regardless of the price.

If you want to inflate your game library by 2 games, go for it. You will probably not enjoy your time spent with either of these titles though.

My opinion. Again... free is free and is a worthy slickdeal.

Mafia 2 is a great game if only a bit short. Definitely worth checking out

I would say why not since they are free, but the rebate process makes them not worth it considering how much I've heard Brink sucks, lol. I already have Mafia II. OK game, probably worth it for free if you don't already have it. It's nowhere as good as the first one though... And the "open world" has absolutely NOTHING to do in it...

Do I have to cut up the GAME BOX (barcode/UPC) to get the rebate????

your just wrong.. many states do not allow fees on rebate cards or gift cards for years if at all before they can start charging a fee. just because something is in the terms does not mean its legal in a particular state.

my suggestion anyway is just use square or something like that.. it will cost you a few cents but put it in your checking account for you. no worries.

funny, the mx2 order i placed with shoprunner and brink + mafia II order i placed with econo shipping all arrived at the same time

shoprunner is a scam to bring in some $$$, newegg should just offer FS on all small items

I purchased Brink with Shoprunner, then log out and purchased Mafia 2 using Eggsaver economy shipping. Both packages were shipped via UPS ground and arrived at the same time.

This is my first order where Shoprunner actually took 2 days.. usually it averages around 4 days, and it has been as long as 7 days.. NewEgg orders ship from Southern California. Since I live in Northern California I think they just downgrade all of my shoprunner orders to economy to save money. The only savings I get from shoprunner is when there is actually a fee for economy shipping.

Yeah, they did the same thing with all 3 of my separate orders. All of the items were in one box, which is smart on their part. TigerDirect could learn a thing or two about shipping from Newegg. All of TD's rebate offers start on different days, so over the weekend, I end up with like 3 TigerDirect boxes and they have to pay shipping 3 times. If they were smart, they'd install a system which combines pick orders so that all items shipping to the same address only need 1 UPS Tracking # and one box.

That aside, I do think TigerDirect packs their items better than Newegg does. I like that green bubble wrap that they use a lot. I have a huge box filled of it.

That's a load of crap that they downgrade you to Econo when you have Shop Runner. What do they use, UPS SmartPost?

Yeah... they have 3 warehouses in these states: CA, TN, and NJ. All of the West Coast orders usually come out of CA. All of the midwest orders go out of TN. All of the East Coast go out of NJ. Of course, sometimes an item might only be available in one warehouse, so there will be exceptions.

FYI, I was looking over the details of becoming a ShopRunner merchant, just out of curiosity... and I noticed that they actually charge the merchant a "transaction fee" when a "promotional ShopRunner account" makes a purchase. They also don't pay the merchant a subsidy to cover shipping costs either when it's a promo account.

With that said, sounds like a shitty deal for Newegg. ShopRunner gives out so many promo accounts and they are stuck with the costs of everything involved.
