For those with experience buying more than 1 item for rebate submission, do you guys recommend buying each item 1 at time to make rebate submission more clear, or is it OK to buy all three items on the same order and just submitting 3 copies of the same sales receipt with different item circled on each?

It however is a bit more complicated as some pastes lose some their heat transfer efficiency over time and some perform better over time. I've read AS5 improves after the initial application, not sure about the others.

I am still waiting for my rebate as i submitted 6 weeks ago. The status is still "processing" via the Neweggs site.

It always makes me laugh to read "studies" like this. There's no statistical analysis at all, no controls whatsoever, and they don't even appear to repeat anything. Given that application variance seems to have just as big of an affect on thermal performance as the paste itself, it's impossible to say whenever one is better than another, let alone say that one is "slightly" better than another.

Show results like this in any reasonable science/engineering context and you'd be eviscerated on the spot.

It doesn't need to be that scientific imo to gain insight, but I agree that this isn't the most reliable way to produce quantified results. On the other hand, my point was made to counter the suggestion that AS5 is much better and the difference is "huge" just isn't shown in this test or others that I've read recently.

Anyone have any advice re-applying the thermal paste on a PS3? Mine has stopped powering on consistently. It starts sounding like it is turning on and the fan kicks on, then it beeps, and the light just starts flashing requiring a hard power off in back. Maybe after a dozen attempts it will finally turn on. I was told changing the thermal paste might help this so I just picked up two.

Wow, Newegg really jacked the price up on this.. I still havent gotten my rebate from November. "Processing"..lol
