Coboc 25Ft. M/M HDMI Cable $4 + Free shipping

Ordered the 25' cable and just got this email

"We regret to inform you that your order has been voided due to insufficient stock. While our website may have indicated an in-stock status, one or more items in your order were not in stock at the time your order was to be fulfilled."

There aren't very many uses of a 25 foot cable where it would be worth buying this. Anything you need to run through a wall or ceiling (even suspended) needs to be more reliable than this. And you can't just test it once or twice and be done with it - lower end hdmi cables frequently seem to work in the beginning and quickly start dropping out.

I bought a redmere from Monoprice for my projector and have never looked back...but even if you are trying to pinch pennies, at least get something that is likely to work.

The reviews really don't look good on the 25 ft one, so I'll pass on it and prob just get it from amazon or monoprice.

I thought about using one of these 25' cables to run video output from my laptop so when I play games (such as Monkey Island) the kids can watch on the TV.

I am waffling on the quality issues because it would be exposed to feet.

Sure it's not the greatest cable, but I picked up the 25 footer for the chance I need a quick fix. 4$ is more than good enough for a temporary setup.

Many complaints on the 6 footer saying it doesn't work with PS3. I guess these are just super cheap and thin. I bought a $5 one instead that at least looks much better in the pic.

This/these. Especially with in-wall installs, you're going to want something with a better build. People will say digital is digital. To some degree, it is true. A fully working cheap cable will deliver no better picture than a fully working good cable. But when you start getting to these lengths (25'), certain receivers (i.e. the HK AVR1700 that was popular when it hit $200) don't play well with longer runs of cable and/or cheaply made cables. When you have to fish something through the wall, you only want to have to do it one time, so it can't hurt to get something with a bit better construction to hopefully minimize the chances of ever having to re-run one again. We've had our house about four years and I've had to fish three or four cables through the wall. They worked initially but flaked out over time. Got tired of it the bloody knuckles and pulling away baseboards so I spent about $10 on a 15' Blue Rigger cable. As mentioned above, you don't need Monster Cable, but get something with super solid ratings and a solid construction.

Yup it doesn't work on PS3 it is still playable if your not worried about small pixels floating around. Though my Xbox 360 and DVD Player works perfectly.

I have had my share of cheap cables doing the intermittent cut-out but garbage static pixels? Crazy.

You could connect them, yes. I did it to connect a 10' HDMI cable to a 6' HDMI cable a few years ago due to falling about a foot or two short of being able to hit my receiver (from an in-wall run). There is a signal falloff and I'm guessing having a "middle man" won't help (it won't hurt much, if any, but...)

As mentioned above, there is a falloff with longer cable runs...and if you're going to be pushing tons of data/bandwidth (i.e. Deep Color, 3D, etc.), you're going to want a shorter (if possible) or higher quality cable.

Maybe I'm incorrect, but when I was looking into HDMI cables for my entertainment set up I thought the longer the cable you have the worse the signal gets.


Also, just FYI you can get Monster HDMI cables on Ebay stupid cheap. They are always marked up 400% at box stores, because that's where they make a lot of money, not in the tvs, but in the accessories.

I've had floating pixels as well. But in my case, it was SD cable TV programming as seen here [youtube.com].

I also had the flickering issue on a PS3 [youtube.com] when used with a Harman Kardon AVR1700 receiver and cheap cables. Using the same setup, it worked fine with a Sony receiver. The HK receiver just didn't jive with cheap cables that "worked just fine" with other receivers.
