Deep color is a Sony technology -- you'd need a TV that supports it, an HDMI cable capable of handling the higher bandwidth (most recent decent quality cables can) and a source that also supports DC. PC games don't (at least not that I'm aware of), so you don't have to worry about Deep Color.

Are you between 25 and 50 feet from your TV that you'd need two of them?

Ya, 50 feet. Just running it under the rug. I mean if you check out the adapter review it's got great ratings......

I don't know very much about HDMI technology; I know a tiny bit thought. Here's the thing, if each of the 25 foot cables worked independently; and the adapter got such good ratings. Then I'm lost.....it wouldn't even blank out and come back from what I recall. Just no signal.

The gauge (22AWG vs. 24AWG vs. 26AWG, etc.) of the cable will help dictate how well the cable performs over long runs. The longer the run, the lower the number you want generally speaking. Also, I'd imagine, the more data you're trying to push down a cable (i.e. 3D, deep color, etc.), the less luck you'll have with a really long run. Ditto for a cheap cable -- if the construction/materials aren't built to handle lots of data, it's gonna puke and you're going to have handshake issues eventually (if not, right away). I'm also guessing that a higher powered source (i.e. a good home theater receiver) will have better luck pushing a video signal over long distances than a lower powered source (i.e. a PC's video card).

For $8 ($4 x 2), it can't hurt to try a pair of these long ones (plus the cost of the adapter), especially if you're not going to run it through walls or under the carpet, etc. If it works, great. If not, you aren't out a whole lot. If you want it to be a more permanent thing and don't mind upping the budget (a couple fold), there are 50' Blue Rigger cables for $35 [amazon.com]. As such, you could eliminate the need for the adapter. Or, you could get a pair of 25' cables [amazon.com] and still use the adapter...but total cost is about the same.

I've never used 'em before, but some people swear by Redmere [monoprice.com]. They are specifically designed for long runs. You'll pay a pretty penny for them, though.

EDIT: I just noticed this Amazon review on the 50' cable. It sounds like he has a similar setup to you [amazon.com] and didn't have luck with the 50' cable -- but he gave it five stars anyway.

These are solid core poorly manually soldered wires. The solder comes off on the connector. I was hoping for a cast plastic plug.
They fall apart , if the plug is slightly stressed.

I'm having a hard time getting my email from them as I haven't purchased from Newegg in a while. I need 4 25' and 4 6'. Is there a place to put in both codes? Thanks.

I've found not having kids to be far cheaper than investing in more expensive cables.

All joking aside, I would not suggest these cables for a long run like 25'. I haven't had any issues using the 6' ones with PS3s though.

For such length you most certainly need a repeater, not a coupler. I bought one at Monoprice for $10 and it works perfect.
