Same here. But if you have the Red Card, you get 5% off. So, if you consider a $25 Target gift card to be as good as money (I do), that brings the system to $165. But then there's tax, so this newegg deal is still better by a few dollars.

I've got no regrets. I also got my Target to pricematch Kid Icarus and Professor Layton to Best Buy's $14.99 price.

Nintendo already has the regular 3DS price point to complete with the Vita if it does drop to the 199 price point.

They aren't going to drop the XL to match, along with the non-XL (it would make it almost 100 bucks)

So you're saying this is only a few dollars cheaper than getting it at Target or elsewhere? I'm not a 3DS tracker so are folks thinking this good deal is gonna stick around or further price drops shortly hereafter expected? Just don't know when to jump in for a gift.

I don't know...that $199 price point has been there for a while. 3DS just started to pick up momentum in the past year and has a healthy lead against Vita. If Vita drops to $199 I think Nintendo could drop this to $150 for XL and $120 for the regular. Vita isn't the only thing they are competing against in the $200 market either. Apple's ipod Touch, Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD all have devices in the 199 range. Granted they are different devices but they have a broader appeal than a dedicated system.

For the record I'm not hating on the 3DS as I have an XL and my kid has a normal sized one. It's a great machine but it is primarily a gaming machine.

A drop in price would be awesome. Too bad the Vita memory card prices are OBSCENE.

This is really tempting, but i'm going to wait for the $150 mark.

Is it just the color that makes it a deal? I see 3DS XL for $170 here and there.

It does do homebrew. I have a Revolution R4i Gold on my 3DS XL and have Gameboy, Game Gear, NES, and Super NES emulators running on it perfectly.

What they haven't figure out is how to run 3DS games. They have been successful at converting 3DS games to rom files, but Nintendo's anti-piracy technology is supposedly really good on the 3DS where it doesn't run on flash carts. That's ok with me because I've bought all my 3DS games anyway (and don't necessarily want to pirate them). Emulating old technology is morally acceptable for me because I've owned most of the games and systems I put on the 3DS, and it's just nostalgic (and cool) to have old NES games in your pocket.

I tried to PM you asking more about this, however I couldn't because of your settings. Would you be so kind as to PM me to elaborate on where you got your Revolution R4i Gold & perhaps a forums in which I could investigate more about it?

I just got 2 of these used for $122 each. Worth the savings to me but I understand if you want new.

Well, the 3DS XL with $25 gift card deal is over, so this is currently $30 cheaper than what Target sells it for.

The best deal was $160 for the 3DS XL with Mario Kart back in December. I'm still kicking myself for passing on that one. heh.
