Logitech G500 Gaming Mouse Newegg $39.99 with Free Shipping

I've used both the G5 and G500 and they are both fantastic mice. If I didn't already get a new mouse, I would jump on this. The only reason I went from G5 to G500 was because my G5 broke and Logitech replaced it with the G500 for free even though I was outside of the warranty. Just recently the cable on my G500 broke, so I had to get a new mouse. Now I'm using the G700 wireless mouse, and although I like it, I still miss my G500 and G5. I liked having 3 mouse buttons on the side instead of 4. I used to use the middle button for play/pause, and with 4 buttons, it just feels awkward to set one of them up for that.

One issue with all of the mice for me was middle clicking. With mice that can have the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) click to both sides as well, it can seem a little harder to middle click. I solved this problem by just setting up left click as a middle mouse click function.

Great mouse. Ive been using it since the last FP slickdeal for $40.

Well, time to retire my 8 year old mouse that I bought on August 25, 2005. Logitech MX1000, it's been a good run. This thing can probably last another 8 years but its a pain in the ass to charge it every 3 days.

The only reason I noticed is that I play TF2 and use a setup that requires a lot of weapon switching, for the first month or two of owning it, I was constantly overscrolling to my next weapon. You get used to it after awhile though and adjust. Still miss my MX518 though, it was pretty much dead at the time I replaced it.

using this mouse right now, absolutely love it... never really tried that many mice in my lifetime but I don't feel like straying from my G500

I am wondering How you like the g700, how bad is the lag , do you notice it. Thinking if i should go for the g500 since this is a great price for solid wired gaming mouse, But that g700 does look slick. Dont know which to choose... Great Deal none the less.

Personally I think it's noticeable.

I'm on my 2nd G500. Been using it since they discounted the G5. I've bought the razor and corsair high end mice, but keep coming back to the G5.

Bummer was hoping the lag was not noticeable. This deal Seem to be more temping now, corsair Mouses are Nice Aesthetically IMO, But I dunno how good they are. One thing the pattern area of the g500 is that soft-touch or plastic..? Anyways thanks for the feedback.

How is the scroll wheel on this mouse? Does it click? Or does it scroll smoothly without any breaks?

I honestly don't notice anything. I got the g700 on sale for $50, which seems about right for it. If I had to choose between this for $40 and the g700 for $70 (current price on Amazon) I would go with this. I do like the option of going wireless, or using a cable with the g700, I just don't really care for the 4 buttons instead of 3 on the left side of the mouse.

Both. there is a button under the scroll wheel that lets you switch between the two.

Best thing? Logitech will replace your G500 without an issue. Picked one up for when my old one goes out and I need a new one while its being replaced. Their support is EXCELLENT for RMAs.

For gaming...G400 is hands down one of the best, if not the best, mouse for gaming. It has the most neutral (best) sensor that truly translates ones hand movements without any artificial acceleration or angle snapping (avoid these at all costs for gaming). Ignore the laser vs optical circlejerk because it makes zero difference when you're gaming on a decent/proper mousepad/surface. Very smooth, best I''ve ever used. The ONLY thing I wish I could find in a mouse is a quieter click action. I have one of Logitech's backlit keyboards and it's great for this. Very quiet. Girlfriend is very light sleeper.
