I don't game all, and I have two of these. I felt need to get one for use at work just because I have been spoiled by the programmable buttons. DEFINITELY take advantage of the programmable buttons! You can program different buttons for different applications! (I didnt utilize this amazing function until after 2 years of using my first g500). Now I got different functions for my buttons for Firefox, excel, Spotify, Thunderbird, etc. LOVE IT

I second this. I love the mouse but I've probably gone through about 5 mice so far. 4 of them were replaced by Logitech for double click/ button not holding problem. There is a DIY FIX. If you aren't tech savvy its probably too complicated but worth a try if your mouse is out of warranty. So first time buyers beware of the button issues.

The only gripe I have with my G500 is I do not like the small back button on the side of the mouse. I prefer it to be much larger like the G5. Might pick up a G400 one of these days to try it out. Other than that it's a great mouse.

Logitech is notorious for this crap (and the buttons failing after a year or so). How long will it take for these morons to fix these problems?

I've had mine for two years and still going strong. I love it. Great if you have bigger hands. I use mine for work, just grabbed another for future use.

I agree. I've gone through 4 Logitech gaming mice of all different models and they've all developed this same issue within a year of daily use. Some of them didn't even last half a year. The only Logitech-made mice I've owned that didn't crap out on me was the original MX Revolution, which has long been discontinued and replaced.

I generally like Logitech products but don't trust their mice. Been using a Razer Lachesis (original) for 2+ years and a 2012 Razer Naga for a few months and both of them are doing fine.
