In general, most Z77 based MB can do what you described. I have that exact setup using ASRock Z77 Extreme4. Unfortunately, this motherboard does not have the support for VirtuMVP [lucidlogix.com]that's required to get the best of the both world.

With a motherboard supporting VirtuMVP, you can have both Intel's HD video and an external video card enabled (although not at the same time). This allows power hungry external video card to stay in idle to save power when watching a video thru a TV connected to the IGPU. If you want to play a game, just turn off the TV to enable the external video. There is no performance penalty what so ever.

You could also use the apps listed in the virtu panel to switch screens, but I've never used it that way. Almost, but not all games work with virtuMVP.

Surprised this isn't getting more love. Doing a new build and this fits the bill pretty well - decent mobo and 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM for $100 is pretty good. Repped.
