Interesting. When I first saw this deal, I hesitated quite a while between the board in the deal and this one [newegg.com], which also has free 8gb & for some HTPC setups (what I am interested in as well) may make more sense, as it has better quality realtek sound & other things that might matter to some people, e.g. PCI (legacy) slots, two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (vs 1), displayport, eSATA, better power components, etc. Looking at it now, I see it also has the Virtu Universal MVP. Hmm, understanding the significance of this may have tipped me towards this board after all. Oh well, too late now, I bought the OP's instead & it's due to be delivered today. But if I were buying it today, with the $10 price increase on the OP's board, I think for an HTPC build I would pop for the extra ~$35 and get the more expensive board with all these extra features & higher quality components. Great deal, but still I have buyer's remorse

The emails with these codes are somehow targeted. They usually start with

There were times when I would get an email with a list of useless categories/coupons but could use other, more useful, codes that were posted here - even though they were not in my email.

So, it seems like you have to be targeted to begin with - and if you are, you can use even those codes that were not emailed specifically to you.

Mainly the physical size and layout. Take a look at the overhead view. SATA ports and USB headers are positioned differently. This can make a difference in a tight case.

Additionally, the Biostar website lists TZ77A as having these features

I can't imagine that the B does not support the last two. Also, the A is "Windows 8 Compatible" and the B is "Windows 8 Ready". I don't think that makes any difference.
