I went with a pair of splinter forceps as a filler. I work with electronics alot, so these could double as ultra fine tweezers.

Thank you, for this! I am leaving on a trip with my wife this weekend and needed a good rain jacket. Some articles we read pointed to the Marmot Precip, and I went straight to Amazon. For an older jacket, they've been at $99 for a while. I set tomorrow as my final order date before our trip and was just hoping the prices would drop. On Sunday the women's Precip dropped to $61 for certain colors (including black), as did the men's (but no black). This isn't the color I preferred but I'm not going to complain for the price. Ditto, never tried Marmot jackets before so I'm not sure if they run small, large, or normal. It seems these make for great jackets for traveling no? We'll be heading to Europe in March and I'm wondering how this would work out - for those who have one of these, do they keep you pretty warm? Or do you typically layer for colder months? I think the temps in Europe will probably be in the 40's-50's at the lowest (I think) and partly rainy.

For a DWR-based garment (h2No is marmot's waterproof membrane technology) I would tend to agree, I've seen eVent based jackets for not much more, and the difference in performance is going to be substantial.

Actually, I decided on a M size. I checked the Amazon reviews and found one from a guy who is 5'11" and 165 lbs who says the M fits perfect. I'm 5'10", 155 lbs so the L would almost definitely be too big.

Snagged some Smartwool socks as my filler.
