Agree with the other posts 100%. Buy a dedicated sport wash for this or any rain shell and dry on medium heat and you are good. Once the DWR does wear off buy a wash in or spray on product and it will keep it going. Dirt and body oils kill DWR as fast as anything else so keep it clean. The wash in / spray on stuff doesnt last nearly as long as the factory coating but it keeps water beading and is cheap/easy to reapply when needed.

Seen a lot of threads where they recommend this. A bit pricey, but it's not like you wash the jacket every week.

as juv said, it's expensive, but I wash my jackets every couple months if i use them a lot, so it doesn't cost all that much in the end.

Ditto, never tried Marmot jackets before so I'm not sure if they run small, large, or normal. It seems these make for great jackets for traveling no? We'll be heading to Europe in March and I'm wondering how this would work out - for those who have one of these, do they keep you pretty warm? Or do you typically layer for colder months? I think the temps in Europe will probably be in the 40's-50's at the lowest (I think) and partly rainy.

very true, all DWR fails eventually... but a re-applied DWR isn't usually as good as the stuff coming from the factory, and if that's your only form of waterproofing on a jacket, it would seem that this would reduce the longevity of the jacket, if you have to keep re-applying DWR every 2 weeks... for example my mountain hardwear shell's DWR is rated for 80 washes, and while I did pay a pretty penny for it (almost 170) I expect it to last a long time.
