Right, the 1713 is the only current model under the 2113 that has MultEQ XT. Similarly, the 1712 is the only model under the 2112 with MultEQ XT from last year's models.

Unless you are an audiophile, the difference in sound between a receiver with or without the XT will likely not be discernible.

The 1913 is lacking the MultEQ XT as well. The next model up from the 1713 with XT is the 2113.

What is very nice about the 1712 is that it has both MultiEQ XT AND 7.1. The 1713 dropped down to 5.1, so to get both features without paying much more for the 211X, the 1712 (or maybe older years?) is the only option.

Well at least the 20% off helps! It makes the 1913 much more tempting and the lowest price I could find.
If I was an Apple fan I might lean towards the Denon (Airplay), but I'm not going to cancel the Onkyo 616 at almost $100 less. |

1613 for $200 vs the yamaha 573 that was at frys for $288? 5.1 and 7.1 is the obvious difference any other huge ones?

For anybody thinking Onkyo - I've currently got one and it has severe handshake HDMI issues and also has issues with BluRay, the data transfer is often too much for the receiver and causes the audio to drop every few minutes.
Onkyo's quality has continued to go downhill - while Denon receivers tend to be very highly regarded in the AVS community. |

I've been focused on Yamaha but these Denon refurbs, as long as they hold up better than Onkyo refurbs, look good. |

I just picked up the 1613. Time to upgrade my old Sony HTIB system. These seem like great receivers. Could anyone recommend a good speaker setup to use with this ?

I will admit that I haven't necessarily heard a system where the subwoofer was equalized, but hearing systems where the other speakers are and the subwoofer is not, I could easily see how the subwoofer being equalized would make a big difference. |
